Yongxiang to build 50,000MT polysilicon capacity
Sichuan Yongxiang Co Ltd, a polycrystalline silicon supplier based in Sichuan Province, on Sep. 21 kicked off the construction on China's largest solar power project in Fukang, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region with a total investment of RMB 26 billion (US$4B). The project, which covers land area of 9,000 mu, is designed to have an annual output capacity of 50,000 tons. The plant will have 3GW of solar wafers as well solar cell lines. In addition 5 350MW thermal solar plants will be build. Yonggxiang Group is a subsidairy of Tongwei Group Co Ltd (TG). In May, 2011 Tongwei announced polyslilicon expansion plans with the capex of the $34.78 per kg of polysilcion.
