Good luck.  They are inches away from hitting 2 billion in accumulated losses. They seem on target to get there soon.

Yingli's problem has never been it's cash production cost. After the huge PPE write downs and a potential debt restructuring it could be a profitable brand at full utilization again. The old shareholder value has of course been wiped out by then, but it will be a player to consider again after such a reboot.

Well they're saving YGE. As per Bloomberg tonight, Yingli is getting $508B from a state bank and local government to help with restructuring and to reduce debt burden. If TSL and JA got private "offers", why don't they just take YGE private at current MC of under $70M (its not like they'll be able to tap US equity markets any time soon, if ever again)?

YGE is to expensive to take private due to its large net debt and negative book value. JA was a case of market value far below book value, i.e. a negative premium, where a buyer could tap JA after acquisition to virtually have paid nothing. With YGE even if pay $0 you take on a lot of net debt and get negative book value for it.

That Trina settlement still has a bitter taste. 7.5m is much easier to swallow.

Speaking of Trina, the stock is stuck between $9.7 to $10 for the past month.  There is no movement in the stock (up or down).  There is not much interest.  Why do you think that is?  Do people think that it will be bought out or that the price is capped?  Even if it gets bought out, it still give investor almost 20% profit.  That is still nothing to sneeze at.

I don't know. Not much going on now between 4Q ER and 20-F filings end of this month. I think big players just wait for 20-F filings before making big decisions on big moves in these names. Not that it is likely that the 20-F will dramatically change the views on the names, but you might just wait them in as you'll have a one year fresher view on all the financial details of these companies as your decision basis.
