6% increase in short interest for TSL. Perhaps loading up before Q3.

That is very odd situation with the short interest. All the companies, except TSL and FSLR, returned to their short interest levels, that were in Spring 2011. But for TSL, the short position roughly tripled since Spring 2011. I wonder what is going on there, especially with such a big chunk of TSL shares owned by institutions. Maybe they are preparing for a short squeeze on the way up. Similar to what they did with the long squeeze on the way down.

13% increase in TSL's short interest, Franklin owns 13.9% shares?
Interesting combination

End of 2012 short Interest

Interesting movement in the short interest, TSL and STP increase of short interest, explaining a bit SA article at the beginning of the January. Bold measure after shorting over million shares more. https://solarpvinvestor.com/database/shor…t-interest-2012

Yes, moreover I think that movement of shorting has relationship to ability of meeting guidance. I am not seeing numbers for December yet, but my concerns about guidance for certain companies are reflected with increased short and reductions are seem to align with the ones who show promise.

Some heavy bets against JASO and SPWR with the new year. It looks like someone had figured out that YGE is going to stay around, no vote of confidence for Trina or Suntech https://solarpvinvestor.com/database/shor…t-interest-2013

Thanks, That TSL short is amazing. Almost twice that of STP. Just an easy target at the moment.

Thanks, 45% drop in short interest for STP, that's odd.

SOL up 64% in short interest? Baffling.

I like short interest up 64% in SOL. Will be a nice short squeeze when CC in May.

next data (April 25th) will probably show no change in short interest for SOL (or a little bit higher than 5M). If I see a trading pattern right a short covering now is in effect but we will learn it only in 3 weeks. As for TSL I am really puzzled - why TSL got such a "preference"? Probably shorts make a bet on a management change. What is important for TSL shareholders such a big SI for TSL makes this stock more stable with regard to a way down because you have to short more to bring it lower and this is dangerous due to a lack of liquidity in a case of a fast short covering.
JMHO: last time TSL was a leader ramping up from 5 to 30 well ahead of other pack. This time we will see 1-2 new leaders on a rebound phase. I bet on SOL and CSIQ.

Do not know about SOL, but TSL's (when ever that will happen) will be brutal as proven by FSLR just last week.

What is more puzzling that for TSL 63% of the float are owned by institutions, and short interest is 27%. It would make quite difficult to cover.
