Dear Members,
In the spirit of openness, I am making this information available. We have completed the initial pilot with Solarzoom for Export Data. Since we started the delivery of the document, it was agreed that Solarzoom will provide the data as a pilot for about 4 to 5 months. This agreement has expired with the month of February.
The largest issue here is that Solarzoom offers subscription for this, among other services. This service is sold for $3000 US per year, and it is offered by Solarzoom on their English site. The service includes weekly price data from China, export data monthly, and pricing data (ASP ). The price per month is $250.00. Solarzoom plans or already has added utilization reporting to this platform.
The negotiations between SPVI and Solarzoom, at this point have not delivered the outcome. I cannot ensure you that data will be available to us, going forward.
The negotiations primarily involve following ideas.
Chinese government had forbid publication of the declaration data from the beginning of this year. Lack of this data causes analysts at SZ to fear that accuracy particularly below 1MW shipments is not going to be guaranteed.
I have discussed this with Jason, senior analyst, and the error is at -+0.20MW for anything under 1MW shipment and only affects (or that is the reason right now) this level of shipment. They fear that if we sell export data alone as opposed to subscription, it creates integrity risk for them.
Secondly that is an exceptionally strong hesitancy to deliver the pricing data to us. I am not sure what that is. Is it lack of trust toward me, danger of leaking out competitive pricing or combination of both?
The way I see this right now, I will not be able to sell data (if I will be permitted to sell it) at a price of $27 per document. SZ desires to sell this at a minimum of $140 per pop, and they will throw pricing (corporation ASP for each country) into the mix. This is their recent proposal. In light of this request, I asked if we could create four sets of data:
Export data at $40 CAD
Export data plus price data at $100 CAD
Export data plus utilization at $80 CAD
And whole 9 yards at $140.00 CAD
I sense that SZ does not want sell export data alone. Therefore, $40 option may not be available at all.
At this point, I do not have much to negotiate with and hope for the best.
In a matter of disclosure, I have asked for 20% commission for all options. Furthermore, SPVI sold 17 reports for a month of February for the income consideration of $85.00.
Cheers
