Solarzoom Data Announcement

Dear Members,

In the spirit of openness, I am making this information available. We have completed the initial pilot with Solarzoom for Export Data. Since we started the delivery of the document, it was agreed that Solarzoom will provide the data as a pilot for about 4 to 5 months. This agreement has expired with the month of February.

The largest issue here is that Solarzoom offers subscription for this, among other services. This service is sold for $3000 US per year, and it is offered by Solarzoom on their English site. The service includes weekly price data from China, export data monthly, and pricing data (ASP ). The price per month is $250.00. Solarzoom plans or already has added utilization reporting to this platform.
The negotiations between SPVI and Solarzoom, at this point have not delivered the outcome. I cannot ensure you that data will be available to us, going forward.

The negotiations primarily involve following ideas.

Chinese government had forbid publication of the declaration data from the beginning of this year. Lack of this data causes analysts at SZ to fear that accuracy particularly below 1MW shipments is not going to be guaranteed.
I have discussed this with Jason, senior analyst, and the error is at -+0.20MW for anything under 1MW shipment and only affects (or that is the reason right now) this level of shipment. They fear that if we sell export data alone as opposed to subscription, it creates integrity risk for them.
Secondly that is an exceptionally strong hesitancy to deliver the pricing data to us. I am not sure what that is. Is it lack of trust toward me, danger of leaking out competitive pricing or combination of both?
The way I see this right now, I will not be able to sell data (if I will be permitted to sell it) at a price of $27 per document. SZ desires to sell this at a minimum of $140 per pop, and they will throw pricing (corporation ASP for each country) into the mix. This is their recent proposal. In light of this request, I asked if we could create four sets of data:

Export data at $40 CAD

Export data plus price data at $100 CAD

Export data plus utilization at $80 CAD

And whole 9 yards at $140.00 CAD

I sense that SZ does not want sell export data alone. Therefore, $40 option may not be available at all.

At this point, I do not have much to negotiate with and hope for the best.
In a matter of disclosure, I have asked for 20% commission for all options. Furthermore, SPVI sold 17 reports for a month of February for the income consideration of $85.00.
Cheers

Thanks for the update. It sounds like Solarzoom is interested in selling chunks at discount to a group of committed spvi members, but fear the risk that it will be a too cheap alternative channel generally for people looking to just buy it from solarzoom if not kept under the radar.

Good luck with continued negotiations.

Quick update
I got the reply basically saying they will provide export figures and price data (ASP) at $140.00.
In addition, they suggested introductory inclusion of weekly price on domestic market (4 weeks) as part of it. They said , someone buys for 3 months, is free.
They cannot guarantee accuracy of utilization reports, so they will not supply.

I did not get the answer on the price of export data alone nor they had said anything about the commission.

I replied with following. I asked for the 4 weeks of weekly domestic pricing to be included in export data not as the introduction but the permanent feature. I explained way I sell it I cannot make someone pay for 3 months ahead anyway. I suggested $60 for this as a total. I asked for the same inclusion (no introductory offering ) for the rest of the data (ASP and Export). I proposed 20% com on each price: $60 and $140 after fees for SPVI.
I do not have a data, so I am bit nervous if they are still want to deal with SPVI.

This holiday is not helping.

I have a data. Just got it . Four week trend of domestic pricing, price tag $60.00 ( not approved, I lowered my commission in this offer)
Do not have a global ASP yet.
I asked for approval. Days of $27 report are over. this is clear.

I was unhappy, not able to see data for March until now, so there is a truth to being hooked on it. They have always said it was a pilot, so I am not surprised that they want their money worth. My hope now is and I am genuinely worried they will have cheaper and full package. I am expecting communication on this tonight. Hopefully when it is all done, I will have document for sale tonight as well.

No teasers for me please. If this is coming to an end I'd rather go cold turkey.

Hi everyone,

I have go ahead for option 1. Export data, 4 weekly domestic ASP. I will be able to sell it at $60.00
Finally I have a Global ASP data as well option 2, includes option 1.
Very interesting to say the least. This one is $140. Prices are for 11 US listed. But future will have 5 largest shippers.
I will need some 30 minutes to set it up and we should be good to go.
