Solarzoom Data

I am trying to lobby solarzoom to provide us with average ASP per company and country and the average watt per module. They said no to that before, but I know they have at least one data set.
I am negotiating a price range which looks like about $60.00 per report, if included above.
I do not have a data for February yet, but we did sell a lot more reports last time, so I am hoping to get conversations with the momentum in place.
I will not be able to offer discount, as I lowered my commission already, to attract their interest.
We getting in to a greater depth here.
PS. I do not have an answer from them.
I know they are working on capacity utilization monthly report as well. This if it is given to me can be offered as separate data.
Any opinions?

I'm curious how are they able to get the selling price every month? I would think that would be a closely company guarded secret.

It would be based on declaration of value at customs. It maybe lower or higher, but surely indicative. Utilization is also guarded, but data also is being processed for that from companies themselves. Now for average watt per module, is also easy on the declaration slip. It may not be perfect or exact but very illustrative.
As I said I am on the suggestion level, right now. Getting dozen buyers could make a worthwhile for Solarzoom analysts.

I am negotiating this stage, right now. I am told the ASP info extracted from customs way is priced at $120 at subscription level per month, but there is other stuff, they provide. We will see.
I appreciative three people being interested, but certainly this is pretty slim. I suppose living in the dark is preferred stance of solar investment community, why to make a difference now.
Thank you guys for the support, I will let you know. The Feb data should be here end of month, I am told.

So Solarzoom will not sell ASP data below their $120 per month mark.
I am trying to get average watt/ module for $40 total. They do not think this is a good statistic as companies send variety of modules, but I said averages show what is the efficiency per module exported. I think is ok.
What you think?

I think they mean that they sell different types of modules. So if the sell one 60x6 @ 250w and one 72x6 at @ 310w, then it looks like their average watt per module is 280w. If they sell one 60x6 @ 250w and one 72x5 @ 210w, then it looks like their average watt per module is 230w. One case show 280w and one case shows 230w. In both cases modules with decent conversion efficiency was sold, but it might not look like it.

Solarzoom's point is probably that what we want is to see average conversion efficiency going to different destinations, but that's not what a pure watt per module statistics bring.

This is not the average per module wattage, but overall average per module exported, which is a combination of whatever offering they export. As a figure as long as there is a real number of modules behind it, it becomes a benchmark.
Assume SOLs number is 250W/ per module and YGE is 190/module, isn't this showing that SOL exports greater efficiency?
I think this would be an awesome statistic to measure what sells in country x and who is exporting efficiency.
I do not know what it is they just see this as not relevant to them.

If the ASP data for X number of watts shipped per company and country proves to be accurate to the point of where you can actually figure out a company's overall quarterly ASPs and watts shipped, then it would be a very valuable data to have.

I'm not sure I understand odyd. How do we get the conversion efficiency if we don't know the mix of physical dimensions of modules shipped?

We need average area and watt of modules shipped.

@explo ,this is really no different than project statistics. Total MW and thousands of modules shipped. It could be a combination of module types but we get the average used.
I would like to know what Renesola is shipping with those MW monthly per module. Then I can go back and review their data sheets and estimate what is shipping where. The word efficiency is not perhaps the best used in this here, but the info is very valuable. As time progresses we can see if the value chain shifts to higher numbers. Even using large 72 – cell modules in the mix does not reduce value of that statistic. Variability between the companies is what makes this to work. I agree, this is not as clear for the single company. I can even try to get the cell counts (if it is available, using container math) and average it per cell. However more info is needed and I will explore this with SZ.

Example of how statistics would look.

Renesola februari shipments to US:
26 MW
100000 modules

Let me know if I assume wrong here.

Renesola has following module types:
260 W as 60 cells x 6 inches
310 W as 72 cells x 6 inches
210 W as 72 cells x 5 inches

Did they ship 100000 260W modules or 50000 310W plus 50000 210W? In this case the conversion efficiciency would be similar, but what if they shipped 50000 260W and 50000 210W then we would have:

Renesola februari shipments to US:
23.5 MW
100000 modules

Maybe we think that they shipped 100000 235W (60 cells x 6 inches), i.e. 14.5% conversion efficiency instead of the actual 16% shipped.

You are comparing internal statistic.
So say you have SOL 220W, YGE 190W, TSL 235W
This would not be helpful? and if we can understand cell number and watt per cell?
I think it would be very good.

I mean it is slightly helpful, but I'm just trying to understand what Solarzoom meant. To me it seems you would like volume per module type or at least have average area of panels shipped to see what conversion efficiencies were shipped.

I don't know about you guys but I don't mind paying more for the ASP data. I have well into 6 figures In solar and plan on adding more in next couple days when money becomes available. 120 is pennies if I can get great insight in data which general market doesn't have access to.

But for others maybe we can get a group of like 10 of us and do a group buy, then maybe they will take maybe like 20-30% off?

I'm pretty sure if you you offer Solarzoom a larger figure like 1000 for many buys at once they might be willing to give us a better deal.
