JA Solar Holdings, Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: JASO) reports Q1 EPS of $(0.85) versus the estimated $(1.20), beating by $0.35. EPS were Up 15% from the same quarter last year. Revenue came in at $270.0M versus the estimated $228.97M. Sales were Up 6% year over year.

Mr. Jin continued, "We performed especially well in Japan, a high-ASP market, which accounted for a record 38% of our module shipments in the quarter, while module sales to China declined from last quarter due to seasonality and our shift in focus to markets with more attractive margins. We also made further inroads into emerging markets, including in the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa."

Gross margins at positive 6%

Green Light for JASO http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ja-solar-a…-103000055.html

I've never seen them announce this early before. I think it had to do with the excitement of how well they did! Yes they Can!

Thanks explo this should give the whole sector a ray of hope. Bid on JASO rising fast. Honestly if it wasn't for odyd's data which I purchased I never would have bought so much the past 2 days if any. Thank you Odyd! :)

Revenues came in very high

Looks unreal to me that you can generate $270 million with ~250MW module and 190MW cell sales

Really? The data was available for at least three months before you bought. Its not that data, its this board that put you onto Jaso, and specifically Odyd's great analysis. Data was pointing to strong SOL's execution. Did it materialize? Great example of companies execution differentiation.

Nope data pointed to exact asp they gave for SOL, I chose to ignore it to a certain degree. Jaso pointed to higher ASP from data ... The data is what made me switch to JASO in a big way. If you were on that private forum you will see I had questions and odyd and gave me great insight. Because of combination of data and great insight from odyd I placed my bet on JASO

Dear cfeng,

You are behaving like a sixteen year old. This community is for sharing solar knowledge; not starting personal fights with everybody that is now buying your stock or sharing you ideas. You are taking down the quality of this board and you would be very high on my watch list if I was an administrator.

Congrats to all JASO longs. I did not pull the trigger on Friday and knew I should have. But I guess all of the solars will also benefit from JASO's performance.

In either way, Gentlemen, this forum is becoming a mecca fro solar investor. I am embarrassed with weak approach by people who called themselves analysts, trying to bring the market to paying customers. Edwin and Satya could use some help by buying export reports. Data sure pointed out to great sales for JA, no so great for SOL (not the volume , destination.) A bit of analysis is always helpful. Global forum was the place to be to see discussions there.
Q2 first month sales coming up soon in next 10 days I hope all the critics will take the poke to know what makes informed investor versus wannabe, while informed investors to stay informed. I was contacted by a South Korean client (solar company ) to purchase all and any future issues with an upfront payment. Commercial clients now becoming aware.

Cfeng, nobody needs to hear where someone's money is, particularly from you. Klothilde had bought reports from the day one supporting this forum and allowing you type this nonsense here. This person also donated to SPVI out of few benefactors few months back to help us stay alive. I have a tone of respect to him/her for doing so and those who buy reports and let us work and help obtain top info from China. I agreed to allow people to come here an learn from those who are paying customers. This stops or you will be out, another but final warning.
