Strong words by CASE:

http://www.pv-magazi.../#axzz2uFKUSPgu

"CASE calls on SolarWorld to explain its investment from government-backed Qatari company Qatar Solar Technologies," wrote Shah. "As announced this week, QSTec provided capital for the struggling German company’s restructuring – a company whose only leverage in the market is a complaint that has the potential to cripple the U.S. solar industry.

The street refers to the Jordan deal as the reason behind todays tsl spike. I would think report day next week could also explain this movement.

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Trina Solar is spiking on the news it has been awarded an EPC contract for Jordan's largest solar power project.

The streets view of trina is mixed with a hold rating. Maybe these views could partly explain the neutral trend.

TheStreet Ratings team rates TRINA SOLAR LTD as a Hold with a ratings score of C-.

No, it seems like a bit thin explanation.

I think it is EPC element which is a change, something I lamented about yesterday.

Investors Take a New Shine to Solar

http://online.wsj.co...3805474238.html

Interesting take from wall street pros on solar. The article actually sounds bullish, which is a change for the WSJ.

Scsnospam, can you summarize the article because it is requiring a password. Thanks

When I googled the below I was able to read the story

Investors are stepping back into one of the stock market's most volatile sectors, solar-energy companies, after many had pulled the plug on the group several years ago.

Starting in 2008, heavily hyped solar companies stumbled amid oversupply, sputtering demand and a series of bankruptcies.

But now, bullish investors say an industry...

Thanks July that worked!

I love this line "Mr. Lutts now ranks solar as his firm's No. 1 sector pick in 2014, holding about 7% in solar in his firm's riskiest portfolios, up from zero a few years ago. "We're in the beginning of the first inning for solar," he said."

It looks like the TAN paid off pretty well too. That is basically because people wanted to play safe.

Massive investment in TAN and others flows directly into our names.  Meaning that if the masses decide that is the way to play the global PV revolution, it is constant buying pressure for top names.  I would have to think that CSIQ for instance is moving up on the percentage of holdings pie.  Others as well and the more profitable any names become, they will garner a larger percentage of that holdings pie chart.  TAN and other used to be dominated by FSLR but I imagine that is changing.

Reuters is funny and becoming a joke. They still haven't gotten the GW installed in 2013 right.

Everyone was critical of their goal in 2013 and china made those clowns look foolish. I love the haters, more fuel for the fire when they get margin called to cover their short positions.

Tesla's Gigafactory: This Changes Everything for Solar Startups

http://www.palmbeach...ing-for/fYYPq/?

Elon Musk's $5 billion plan to build the world's biggest battery factory could mean big business for solar and other tech startups.

....

"This is the development a lot of people have been waiting for," says Joel Makower, Chairman of Green Biz Group. "In a few years we’ll look back and laugh that we ever had solar panels without a way to store the energy."
