redsolar, talk a bit about enphase as you seem to know a lot in that area. Do they have the largest market share? High margins?
Enphase..been around for a while. So obviously ...it is a matured product.
Renesola..on the other hand..though new in this area. It is a lot cheaper to own and use it than other competitors..and has better specs too. Renesola is planning to release Micro Replus version 2 during mid 2013...which supposed to reduce cost further about 20%. So...it is obviously offering more power for you money.
Another differentiator is....Micro inverters can directly go with the module...transforming into AC module...which is good for residential solar. Renesola can do this right out of the factory gates...supplying to the market as an integrated AC module.
So..Renesola does not have to compete with brands like Enphase. They can make direct deals with the Utility scale projects and with retail distributors as a package deal. This will also allow Renesola to skim better margins as a package. Retailers selling these at 50c/w or above. The actual cost may be around 15c/w or less. Even if they sell this at 20c/w ASP. That is like 25% margin.
Say...Renesola sell the module + inverter at 62+20c/w = 82c/w as a package.
cost = 52+15 = 67c/w.
We are looking at 18.3% GM..
But...this is all depends on ..how well Renesola can execute this. So far..it looks promising.
