While I am not 100% sure about TSL delivering on the 400-500 MW by year end in projects being that they only started 30 MW thus far and everything is loaded to the back end of the year. TSL runs into a position where they may not recognize the projects all in 2014 as anticipated. The 6$ price target is just out of control.

It's unfortunate that he is widely followed and people buy his thesis. I was really hopeing that TSL was going to make a break into the 20's, but when Gordo talks it's usually down you go for a while.

Gordon argues, “we believe investors are giving TSL credit for projects in ’14 it will likely not sell.”
Anyone who knows the Chinese project market won't expect Trina to be able to sell those projects immediately after completion. They also know Trina's got the sheet to hold 'em until they get a good deal. So what is Gordon suggesting? No credit should be given for develop, hold and collect (FiT), while waiting for optimal exit or simply keep the visible 20 year fixed profit?
I have a hard time understanding why he is followed. Words come out of his mouth, at speed, with confidence and with buzz implying he knows the industry he talks about. Only problem is the words in full context of sentences does not make sense if not assuming either his intelligence stops at pronouncing words or he is manipulative. His analysis is simply dead wrong (with suspicious clockwork consistency). Sounds very risky to follow someone like that. And I think investors have realized that now like Xeloris said, but he himself has not realized he needs to use reversed psychology now. The recent Trina spike must have hurt short positions. Desparate, not thought through response.

LOL, I recall him coming on CNBC and slapping "short with both fists" $50 PT on Tesla. It was may be $125 then.
Actually, it is an (hidden) upgrade as his previous PT was only $1 on TSL, now it is $6. Will look to get in if possible now.

I like that last phrase you said in fact I think Gordo plays by the rules of GS, Say 1 thing and get a knee-jerk reaction and do another. If anyone of us could get a look at Axiom Capital's Holdings in the past we could get a good reading on what to expect next.

Here's that call on TSLA at a sell rating $50.00. He fails to recognize any Potential Growth movements and he talks of present tense. http://www.cnbc.com/id/101181035 I have reason to believe they tell others 1 thing but do the exact opposite but don't have proof because I have yet to locate the holdings of Axiom Capital but I see they invest for a select group of investors & Institutions.
Axiom Capital Management, Inc. is a diversified institutional financial services firm founded in 1990. The firm provides a wide range of financial services to a significant and diversified client base that includes institutional investors, corporations and high-net-worth investors.

Someone please tell me this is a joke.
If GJ was widely followed, those who shorted TSL at $4-$5 when he gave a target of $1 would all want to have him hanged by now.

Main stream media (NYT) is catching up with the solar PV revolution we have discussed here for months. I like particularly the discussion of hidden subsidy to fossil fuel and nuclear energy.
In both Europe and the United States, generous public subsidies including tax breaks and feed-in tariffs requiring utilities to buy back consumer-generated electricity that feeds into the grid have allowed solar photovoltaics to achieve vastly lower unit costs. But these subsidies are dwarfed by historical taxpayer support of both fossil-fuel and nuclear-generated electricity. The International Energy Agency warns that continuing fossil-fuel subsidies contribute significantly to global environmental problems.
As Japan’s experience with the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disaster suggests, nuclear power imposes significant risks on nearby residents and even entire national economies. Yet the United States continues to offer significant loan guarantees for nuclear power plant construction, as well as providing public insurance that strictly limits utility company liability in the event of an accident.
Last year the British government signed a contract guaranteeing a generous long-term price for nuclear-generated electricity from a French utility. The financial implications are essentially the same as for a feed-in tariff.

Chaori to Sell Solar Farms to Repay Bondholders After Default
http://www.bloomberg...r-default.html?
Shanghai Chaori Solar Energy Science & Technology Co., the first Chinese company to default on corporate bonds onshore, plans to sell assets outside the country to raise cash and repay noteholders.
The manufacturer will seek buyers for solar farms in Greece, Bulgaria, Italy and the U.S., Vice President Liu Tielong said by phone today. Chinese banks that had previously agreed to provide 800 million yuan ($130.3 million ) in loans if the company faced a temporary cash squeeze “have no willingness to lend,” he said.“Potential buyers aren’t determined yet,” Liu said. “The solar plants are worth more than 1 billion yuan and are more than enough to cover the bond interest.”

He doesn't care US listed or Not
"Trina Solar Ltd. Chairman Jifan Gao said he expects three to five “leading” solar companies to remain in China by 2017, with 80 percent of the country’s market share. "
this 3-5 comps is by the way standard in most industries. so not reallly something newly invented for solar...
left and right you will have some highly specialized niche players in addition. but as a shareholder you rather stay with 1 of the 3 leading ones and not really with a nice player or with no4 or no5...which often rarely make money.
it can take time to reach such a market status - not sure if it will be 2017 already. established markets normally behave like this where there is not much new tech or emerging player marching in.
