Refurnished webpage

Nice, but where did Honey go?

http://www.trinasolar.com/us/index.html

Odyd, what do you make of the once touted Honey not to be seen anymore?

At the same time their standard module (PA05) has been upped 5w to from 230-245w to 235-250w range. I think last I saw of Honey (PC05A) it was at 250-265w, i.e. way more attractive specs for 2013 season. They had quite a lot of Honey lines too. This is puzzling. Now they seem to have a new flagship (PDG5) that focus on durability rather than conversion efficiency, although this one is 5w higher than the standard module with its 240-255w range.

Was there some issue with Honey (like cost or quality) that they don't think is marketable 2013, at least not for their 2013 market focus?

Looking through latest presentations. Honey had a slide in Q2 and Q3. Gone in Q4.

On a related note, all the mono panels seems gone too. These were all 72 cells á 5 inches panels, i.e. the small (15 kg) residential optimal panels that the Japanese likes. I thought those were having a revival with the surging residential demand thanks to Japan. Is Trina too heading for the desert now? FSLR can't get a break?

This post has been edited 1 times, last edit by "explo" (Apr 25th 2013, 7:43am) with the following reason: Changing title. Product portfolio was just harder to find now. Will check further to see what (if any) has changed (should be additions rather than removals).

explo are you turning into Larry?
It seems that original address is redirecting to Site with US in it. I thought they were not selling Honey to the US, because honey is made at home. So I would suspect there will be more geographic sites, and they will feature them.
While I am exploring site I see added features for retail solution. Is the Honey available at retail?
I will see what the company says

I got an EU ip and I was automatically redirected to their US page too, that shouldn't happen. Looks like it's fixed now.

Edit: Not fixed.

Not sure what you mean by this. I was honestly confused. I typed in trinasolar.com since I keep them on my observation list with the development of the product portfolio as one important aspect. After that I saw a new nice layout, but couldn't find the Honey and mono.

Now I realize that if I select another location I get completely different products tab content (thanks). It seems like they've tried to localize their webpage quite extensively way, but I think it is a problem since you might not see all they have.

As you know I'm not in US and still got the US page.

That US get the low end stuff is natural though. Most solar11 use the same approach. High end module goes to tariff free markets.

Stealth Product Portfolio Extreme Makeover

I cannot imagine how you would title this thread if you were fully aware instead of being confused It sounded a bit toxic to me and in “larryrian” style, but as you know I am tad sensitive. LOL.

Yes that title is embarrasing now, but I honestly I thought I looked at the full picture. I'll edit it.

News in the product portfolio is a mono Honey. It ranges 255-265w, 5w higher than poly Honey.

Overall I like what I see better now.

But they need to fix the webpage. Right now people will believe the crappy U.S. market offering is their total offering.
