Question for the board about Taxes

Hey guys, real quickie... last minute nelly on my taxes, and i've put together a SS to help with the book-keeping... it's a chore though to put it together (and track all taxes between years and keeping track of what shares were sold when), and even more of a chore to then convert it into the 8949 form. My question is, can i just reformat the book I keep (in excel) to make it look like the table they give you in the 8949 form, and sorta do a copy/paste job with some some manual copying/pasting of my table over the one supplied?
Really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Different tax authorities, but historically when I've needed to fill in the "detailed transaction forms" I've replaced those with my look-a-like Excel sheets and just kept original forms for the higher level forms. Was no problem here.

Not sure if I understood OP's question exactly, but tax software like TurboTax does an import from your broker (or any financial institution) and re-formats all closed trades into 8949. Just need to make sure that their books (that's what gets reported to IRS) is correct by matching to your SS.
