Nice movement on markets today

Is this Buffet thing still pushing it?

UPDATE

On Tuesday, Suntech received a Continued Listing Standards Notice from the New York Stock Exchange. This means that despite the share price jump on the Buffett rumour, the exchange has warned Suntech that the shares have been under the $1 threshold for too long, and if it doesn’t get a closing price above $1 in the next six months, the exchange “will review the appropriateness of continued listing”.

Forgetting the Buffett rumor for a moment, I don't understand why STP is being allowed to continue trading. Not 6 months from now, but right now. They are either bankrupt or they are not. So which is it?

STP the company itself has not declared BK, only its subsidiary. But yes essentially it should be treated as BK until other information emerges

Anyone remember last time FSLR sparked Chinese solars like this? Usually the opposite and it absolutely kills them, Feels good I have to say to see monster reversal like this on HUGE volume. Maybe, just maybe we are hitting an inflection point in solar?

inflection point? JMHO: not yet. The WS does not play it in a such straight manner. We will see a pull back again. Actually Chi solars were critically oversold after almost 2 months of day by day driving a price down. I'm not a "pure" TA guy but after so unusual 1.5 months 50-60% drop in price based on nothing, TA started to work. Chi 9/10 were proned to bounce and it happened. I was watching all day trading pattern for TSL, CSIQ, YGE and SOL (plus FSLR and SPWR of course) and have to say shorts were hurt today but they managed to put a plug on a price increase. The above mentioned does not mean that the stocks will be taken again to the recent or historical bottom (unlikely though you never know).
As I stated numerous times the only big winners are going to be true investors who won't sell say TSL and CSIQ for 10-11 (it can happen pretty fast, may be within 2013) while waiting the whole cycle that can take 5-8 years. Within this cycle the most prominent winners can reward with 25-30 fold (compared to today's digits). The most sophisticated traders (besides those who control the market) are unable to beat investors. Today's trading is a bright example how it works - those loaded with shares in advance increased accounts for 10-20% within 1 day while all my trading activity today (extremely favorable day) brought me "only" 3% with regard to an entire account.

congratulations! Solars are only 10-12% of my entire account. To make 12%/day on an entire account they need to run 120%. Possible but small chance.

They ran 140-200% on no other news than stabling of prices in 5 weeks time earlier this year. Now we have a laundry list of positive news past week. Select names could easily move 100% in a blink of an eye
