Very green day in General market -may be. But not for solars. May be a little bit green. Why? Because those who made this tremendous scale sell-off are sitting on big short positions taken within last 2 weeks. We do not know yet how short interest right now but I think for SOL, YGE and probably CSIQ it was almost doubled (besides TSL that did not changed substantially). Those who did it have to cover. That is why they will keep the price as low as possible until a covering is over. It is a slow process because they have to play against buyers and at the same time to cover. Take a look e.g. on a current trading, say SOL. 99% transactions at 1.81-1.82 ask and the stock stuck in 1.82. Unlimited supply at 1.82.

its early but

JKS up over 5% and CSIQ up over 3 %.YGE is in quicksand along with SOL at the moment and TSL up 1%..We need buyers to come in so shorts cover to preserve their profits in the last 30 days and we get a squeeze...........

JKS up 7%, LDK up 5%, SOL up 3%. It's still early though.

Its amazing

How a couple of pennies down in 1 minute bring down the percentage gain dramatically, because of the very low share prices .

Better not look at it

Work and exercise and look at the end of the day, very frustrating watching this, most in red now, still early. Crystal ball says at the end of the tunnel is very green and we are more then 3/4 thru tunnel.

do not jump to conclusions too fast. I know inside out these crook strategy. They won't let it go using any even a tiny hole in ask/bid structure. They control a price pretty strong. They have an agenda (trading one not fundamentally) and will follow a plan. Briefly speaking if the XYZ stock goes say from 1 to 10 they do not rip a gain of 9 as best investors do, their gain is 30-35 due to riding waves. Only 3 categories in the market can be winners rated from low to high gain:
- fast skilled retail traders (often)
- investors (if they made a right choice)
- market crooks associated with the wall street (always).

now you can see with your eyes how it works. SOL got a "special treatment" even inside 11th solar pack. with no respect what a general market does. Unfortunately SOL short interest is growing today again - my tool indicates we've got 140K newly shorted shares. Starting from the first day of drop from 2.80 a new shorted shares reached 1.9M i.e. as of today a short interest should be in a range of 5M (we will learn only in 3 weeks). To cover even a half of this interest without lifting a price dramatically you need 2-3 months of more or less nice daily (450-500K) volume. That is why I do not expect a sizable return (and even come back to 2.80) within next couple of months. I would like to be mistaken and sometimes it happened. At the same time should SOL provide several new big contracts (say for 300-400Mw total) we will encounter a huge buying pressure that can accelerate short covering. All in all (JMHO) we will see a certain rally several weeks prior to the next earning report.

SOL lost almost 25% for the last post earnings 4 days of trading. It is the most brutal short attack compared to any other solar stock. Taking into account that SOL's earnings and guidance were the best among all reported it seem to me a bit excessive and aggressive. A loss from the top is (2.85-1.75)/2.85=39% does not look like a consolidation/healthy pull back but rather as a sell-off on a very bad news. I hope this bloodshed is going to be over within next couple of sessions, otherwise the stock will be taken below her historical bottom. The market is waiting for official STP and may be LDK BK to make another hit for Chinese solars. Otherwise I do not understand why a short covering is still pending.

Funny how the S & P

Research team has TSL has a buy and a $8 price target, thats a over 100% gain from here, don't you think they should make it a strong buy. No one trust solar stocks these days but just a small bit of good news will change the trend, it could be JKS earnings, but why do they wait so long. ( April 10th )

Relax ILOVEPV. Here is an updated chart to put your mind at ease. It includes yesterday's trading. Guess who's dark blue line that is... In late Feb/early March SOL had started to go against the down trend of every other solar; and the wall street criminals can't have that.

Looks like SOL is getting crushed again. Almost appears as though they are attacking it specifically. It is starting to really piss me off.

Time to buy. I am scooping at 1.65 and below. Max pain is in effect and out of logical controle. Surely shares are being covered at these rediculous low prices.

200 dma is at 1.60. How far below will they plow this thing? Should have put on a trailing stop when I bought at $2.29.....

I finally figured out the sell-off. SOL and STP both start with "S". That makes them exactly the same business.
