Odyd, am i remembering correctly that you you mentioned the possibility of adding a "summary", or notes add-on to the monthly/quarterly reports that members can purchase?

This would seem like a very interesting feature, if so.

There were few items on the plate. I am still in the process of understanding what can be done or not. I am discussing more details, but I have nothing solidified

Since we talking on this, there is a lack of visibility based on the declaration statements being unavailable anywhere in China since beginning of February. Data collection is becoming an estimate of dollars and volumes per country and you losing level of accuracy as you go below 1MW size shipments. Jason told me this few days ago. So basically data may get blurry to a degree of +- 0.20MW error in that condition. I stated this is not an issue.

I will pop that warning just in case. I also told him this is not a critical variable to understand scale of the deliveries.

I still want ASP. However here we have country ASP average and company ASP but it will be only on high scale sellers. I told them us, we mostly care of US-listed and big ones, so not a big deal if he could provide.

Utilization is also part of it and it seems they want to stabilize sources before selling info.

I stopped receiving the weekly update. I may ask them to provide a monthly price update but not sure. It is hard to communicate, as I have little to offer in return and everything they do is sort of at good will, so I sort of wait what they want to do.

Odyd: if at all possible could you ask Jason next time you speak to him about the 13 GW figure they see for China? How big is their confidence and how come they see way more than other analysts?

The presentation list for year 2012 STP as #1 Chinese-Solar and #2 leader in Japan is JA Solar.

from pvinsights this week:

"Solar cell prices spike drastically this week driven by robust orders for high-efficiency cell from Japan, where rooftop and utility-scale solar projects are bourgeoning."

"Utility-scale solar projects as well as roof-top PV system installation in Japan are now expanding vastly, which significantly catalyzes the overall demand for solar module products."

Does anybody apart from me like this language?

Check out the project approvals again, annual run-rate of 24 GWs, what else is there to say...

You forgot this part:

Additionally, rushorders from Europe are also on a rise asanti-dumping issue has resulted in cell supply shortage

Taiwanese cell makers are busy.

JA Solar could report a profit sooner than we think.
Rooftop fastest growing Solar segment in Japan & will stay that way for a long while.. JA Solar #2 in 2012 in Solar Sales to Japan. Popular and growing in Japan as an OEM provider for that very reason Solar Cells.

Japan is booming in March exports. Just got it. I have no authorization to sell it yet, but the pilot pricing is gone. USA booming, I see very small European retraction.

I think you could add 2GW, so 37GW. I think there is 11% growth from Feb to March. I have not put any time into analysis yet.

Japan approved 5.55 GW of new installations in february (yearly runrate of 66.6 GW).

This means a) political intervention will happen, rather sooner than later imo and b) Japan will absorb every single module that China can produce.

Very troubling development in the long term.

Let me recheck export data to see who is big in Japan again... Ok got it....

Wow man, appreciate the data. It's funny is is so under the radar, nobody has picked up on this outside this board.

What's your guess on installs in Japan this year? 11+

I honestly think by second half of year we are going to run into tier 1+2 shortage ... And it's going to happen before anyone has any idea what's going on...
