Nomura Securities analyst Nitin Kumar reiterated a Buy rating but cut its price target on on Canadian Solar (NASDAQ: CSIQ) to $45 (from $55) saying shares should be bought on the sharp 14% correction since Q1 results as investors are getting Japan for free. The firm sees potential upside of 107.3% to its price target.

Good. A second analyst with a PT of $45-46 and a "buy" in two days.

This is really good target. I think it is made, in line with recent market behavior and it is easily obtainable. Investment houses must keep in touch with markets, whether logical or not, have they showed the PE or EPS?

Nomura has the reputation. And their target normally will come true.

Looks like not everyone is convinced that Nomura knows what they are talking about.

They raised their target last year what, 5 times and each was taken out except the last one at $55.  This make their target seem more reasonable in this time of paranoia, confusion, negativity, doubt etc.  Their targets last year had higher and higher PE's actually in relation to their estimates last since they didn't jump from $16 top $55 but raised their target one step at a time.

When the projects start to roll in, sentiment changes and mo returns, we will all be a much happier bunch and Nomura will likely be ahead of the game as they have seemed to understand CSIQ.  Our day will come.

Their valuation for the module business with 1.4 bln seems quite too high to me. 1 bln for the late stage project pipeline seems in line. With their comment on Japan project they seem to doubt on the Japan pipeline.

I remember Nomura putting a $25 target on CSIQ when it was around $9-10. They were spot on. Very few believed CSIQ could reach 20 let alone 44. Sentiment was much like it was now. Very down and pessimistic. Then boom everything changed on a dime.

Nomura has a $21 target on TSL but it never reaches there. Hopefully this time will be true.

I am on board with TSL, fully loaded.

It will all be good.  This is the game...  they beat us down before every rise.  Last year through March, there were enormous returns.  I should have known that those would not be allowed to stand before the global revolution actually begins.  We are in the infancy and much higher highs are coming to top names.  When?  Who knows but we are close to a period of amazing news flow.  There will be further bumps certainly but PV can not be stopped and there is no choice but to adopt, adapt and embrace PV globally.   The US investor will awake one of these days to the PV reality.
