1,100 MW Solar PV Project Now Under Construction In China
http://cleantechnica...mmenced-china/?

Thanks sunny.Singyes looks to be in a good business building integrated solar products. Anyone has thoughts on any US based companies that does similar?
"
Much of Sinyes’ positive growth in sales and revenue has come from its building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) unit, which makes building materials with solar power functions. In 2013, BIPV accounted for nearly half of the company’s revenue, compared with 40 per cent in 2012."

“This will instil a lot of excitement and a lot of confidence. People will see this is just the first step and once it is announced, within short order, they’ll see other project unveiled and the momentum will build as they get traction. This is the beginning of a very exciting chapter for the Middle East and especially for Saudi Arabia,” he added.

I don't know odyd. Given the losses this year, plus the markets on knife edge this weekend, I have no  problems imagining short sellers on CNBC doing exactly this. Why wouldn't Gordo bring it up? I think I've lost my sense of humor these last couple of weeks.

Brazil ready for solar auctions

http://www.rechargen...cle1355873.ece?

"The regulatory structure for the auctions is ready and Aneel has registered enough projects to hold yearly auctions with 1000MW or more with 10-year contracts,” he says.

Pepitone suggested A-1 auctions for solar power, which means that projects have to be built and start delivering power within 12 months after the tender.

He also notes that prices have been coming down while technology has been stabilizing. “It's a question of price,” he adds.

Aneel has been contacted by companies who say they can now, with current technology, sell solar power at around R$200/MWh ($85.50).

That is less than 9 cents per kwh!
