Hi everyone,

I have bad news. Ray is unable to write for us anymore, due to constrains at his new full time job.

I was going to go old fashioned way and find a freelancer, but I think we have a bunch of people here who could be interested and provide what freelancer does not have, industry know-how.

I am looking for a person who would be interested to write a column on SPVI News, on Chinese Solar weekly events, in one article per week.

Native Chinese speaker with English vocabulary and ability to write freely in English (we will edit and proofread material)

Artistic license to pick a topic, translate it, be creative enough so it is not a plagiarism and offer the most to members and global public on solar to draw readers to the site. Win-win for all!

In return I offer $25CAD per 1200 words, as mentioned we will pay for edit and proofread, but certain quality is necessary (most if not all have it here)

Submissions, word format, text formatted as per any articles, using Google Finance Ticker system.

I could offer a credit exchange toward ED reports and membership. Payment via PayPal would not be an issue.

Please PM with your interest.

Another community engagement idea.

I am disappointed with the lack of interest. I know a lot people speak Chinese, could help members about events in China. A lot people know the industry, which makes it a lot easier than hiring someone completely unaware. Some of the posts here have 400 words or more, so it cannot be the workload, and finally great contribution to the cause.

Instead of a dedicated position, maybe it could be shared by a few, even on a voluntary basis. I think for many money is not the problem but time is.

I think the effort of putting a quality requires time, no doubt, however this is not analytical writing or industry know-how writing. Ray wrote articles on the premise what he read, the same as many write here, when attaching links. A native speaker can "translate" or interpret article he/she read

In this way it is easier, because you are not necessarily, composing content. Web content articles are in the price range I offer, but SA throws articles out, without proper editing and proofread, something SPVI will pay. This is more of the "desire' to contribute, having fun by enjoying the subject and share it with the world.

Think about it, so many links are posted from China, imagine a person who would pick a couple of those and wrote summary. I need a content for the site, to bring readership, why this is important, because on occasion you have a great gem like David, or Explo writing an article, and people flock to it. I think many here can do a better job than Bloomberg can. I imagine a lot of people are wealthy, independent, retired, running own businesses, finance people, professional investors, well educated and Chinese speakers. Having fun includes work sometimes :)

The idea of members here who are bilingual in Chinese and English translating and summarizing key point of all those Chinese articles would be another great value addition to this site. I'd view this as another key value component. A lot of "rumors" or "under the western press radar" appear first in Chinese ahead of being made public. The hard thing for non-Chinese members is to know if the auto-translation or the source can be trusted. If someone with native competence could just summarize key points and source credibility (e.g. official goverment outlet is credible on descibing new government policies etc.) from Chinese press would be very valuable. It would also make it a lot easier to discuss these "news" here.

Hi I am pursuing a freelance idea as well, recognizing the need for such a source, as Explo noted.
