    Thanks, end of JASO as a public company in 7 days. I would imagine this would be a day stock will stop trading.
  2. A formality, 8 Point 3 is done https://finance.yahoo.com/news/8point3-energy-partners-announces-closing-001800160.html
  3. I am not sure about the limitations of the law to buy shares when the offer was made. I guess he could easily buy shares if he had money to do so, there is no hold on him. Let's consider BOD as an independent body. Do you find them useless not to recommend to shareholders to accept it, especially now? What is there to review now? I think the next move is BODs, even we know Qu controls it. So no reaction from BOD at this point indicates second thoughts? The market certainly reads this and those who are selling into it for past few weeks.
  4. Seeing this market I would not argue even if he came with $15 to $16 range as an immediate binding offer, anything above $16 would be sweet. I guess I want this chapter to be over. I have underestimated total dismissal of solar after 6 months of absence from the industry.
  5. The selling is related to China. FSLR selling to it is, even more of a concern than CSIQ,
  6. The reason is simple as Klothilde explained it. The market does seem to consider the offer as serious. It has been 7 months and no more has been said. It is likely to expect that price would be reduced, everyone would make such assessment, especially when another drop like today is taking place. I am not sure if Qu would reduce it. He may, but nothing is the game. That is the reality and China trade of course.
  7. I do not know, but 8% drop after 14% drop for the same reason seems as overdone. When I rad Corville's blog he suggested this is going to be like 2012/2013. I thought about it and could never see companies of today to be treated as companies of that period, but why not? I did not have a good answer.
  8. I think Qu is selling his shares, it feels like it.
  9. do you think trade issues between China and the US having to play a part?
  10. New modules by CSIQ https://finance.yahoo.com/news/canadian-solar-launches-next-generation-113000563.html GUELPH, Ontario, June 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Canadian Solar Inc. Very long but interesting blog from Colville. He considers FSLR as winner. He thinks this will be as bad as 2012/13. CSIQ being developer may fare better (my view) https://www.pv-tech.org/editors-blog/bizarre-demand-forecasting-for-2018-overshadowing-real-impact-of-chinas-con
  12. I think there is about $200 plus M to add based on projects. Capex will not affect the book since book is shareholders equity via earnings. I would say they can add perhaps $100M to it this year or less. JPM is probably wanting to buy more shares, as they know Qu will buy it.
  13. this is mostly because of their earnings.;
  14. Another factor which is not being discussed here is that book value of the company went up since the offer. Using Q4 results, the book value was $17.10 per share. Today, Q1 inclusive, the value is $18.45. So the offer is literally a book. I know that means very little in the offer for JASO, but I think there is a difference between two companies.
  15. Interesting PG. I was not watching as much. I think that lower offer would be accepted as well, however, I do not think the lower offer will be made. CSIQ shares are not ADR. The company is incorporated in Canada and its business, including Recurrent, has the strong US presence. Qu owns shares of CSIQ, over 13M. By lowering the price he would be lowering the value of the company he wants to own and I imagine he has global business plans to use this value. The consortium who will be buying the company with him understands the enterprise value. The situation in China impact CSIQ but not so much. Once again their plant business can act as a sponge. The technology can continue to replace older capacity, but expansions will not proceed. The share price is not a reflection of the value of the company. In the world of global finance, the balance to the offer is peanuts. I am not sure if he or party on behalf of the offer are acquiring shares, perhaps there is a legal limit to do so. I also think that current price, could and this is my mindset change, get the activist investor and pursue the offer without changes from Qu. I am excited to own shares in CSIQ today, again. His offer made me lose interest, now the crisis made the shares attractive and the offer is playing the part of this attraction. GLTA

    Do not rely on my statements, but I actually think Qu would pruchaseCSIQ at $18.47. despite the price drop and the current situation.

    The reason for buying is the low price versus what is the enterprise potential. Have seen this before, and before was a lot worse. This is not a long-term hold by any standards. I think common sense and reason will come back and recovery will be here within days, even if it means 10 to 15%.

    In my case, I just sell on recovery for anything above $13.50

    52 week low for Canadian, if Qu ever wanted to buy this is the time to go for it. Even if the price is lowered to $17 or even $16 it would be considered a relief. It is 7 months or so from his non-binding offer, so the time is also right.

    I am hoping Qu will buy his baby at the full price of his offer. Nobody would say boo now, wouldn't they?

    I watched with huge excitement FSLR moving over $80, so I am confused about the downfall. FSLR is the one to survive all adversity. It is a hold but it is a painful one if you in 60s. I can imagine.
